The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) is a research centre for the study, analysis and public dissemination of contemporary history of Luxembourg and Europe with a particular focus on digital methods and tools for doing innovative historical research. It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination and societal engagement with history.
Your Role...
The PhD students will be members of the research unit Contemporary History of Luxembourg within the IC Luxembourg Centre of Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg. He/she will be member of the research project “Mémorial digital de la Shoah au Luxembourg” (MEMLUXSHOAH), co-funded by the C2DH and the Fondation Luxembourgeoise pour la Mémoire de la Shoah (FLMS). He/she will work under supervision of Ass. Prof. Dr. Denis Scuto.
Activities
- Write a thesis in the domain of the history of the Shoah in Luxembourg
- Help in realising the Digital Memorial of the Shoah
- Write a peer-reviewed paper in journal or conference proceedings
- Contribute to research in the field of Contemporary History of Luxembourg
- Assist the professor in his research and teaching activities
- Participate in the FLSHASE Doctoral School
What we expect from you…
- Master’s degree or diploma in Contemporary History
- Good digital literacy
- Experience in quantitative research methods
- Language knowledge: e.g: excellent command of the following languages: German, French, English
