The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited for two years.
The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics (MPI-IE) in Freiburg, Germany is an interdisciplinary research institution that conducts basic research in two key areas of modern biology: Immunobiology and Epigenetics. Central questions address the molecular basis of cell type identities, as they are regulated during immune cell differentiation, metabolic response and epigenetic chromatin adaptation.
Your tasks
We seek a skilled computational biologist with expertise in genomics data analysis to join our team. Your role in the laboratory is to uncover novel insights into the underpinning of epigenet inheritance via the germline and the establishment of chromatin after fertilisation in the early embryo by the analysis of large genomics datasets, including single-cell, Hi-C and allele-specific expression data that were generated in our laboratory.
