The postdoctoral fellow will conduct her/his research in the laboratory of Prof. Lukas Sommer at the Institute of Anatomy, University of Zurich. The group is part of the SKINTEGRITY.CH consortium and is engaged in several interdisciplinary projects in the fields of stem cells in development, regeneration, and tumorigenesis.

Your responsibilities
The main goal of this project is to investigate how changes in the proteome affect invasiveness and therapy-resistance in melanoma. Proteomics analysis of human melanoma cell lines, spatial multiplex imaging of melanoma from syngeneic mouse models and human biopsies, and functional studies using cell culture and mouse models will be applied to obtain insights into novel mechanisms driving melanoma progression and therapy resistance.
Your profile
Candidates should hold a PhD, MD-PhD or equivalent degree in life sciences and should have a demonstrated record of innovative scientific accomplishments as evidenced by first-author papers published, or accepted for publication, in major journals. Preferred skills and experience include work with cell cultures and mouse models, functional genomics applications and high-dimensional data analysis techniques, and specifically proteomics. We expect a strong interest in interdisciplinary science and the ability to independently develop and drive a research project.
