Description of the workplace

The research group Translational Neuroendocrine Research Unit, TNU, at the Department of Experimental Medical Science, at the Faculty of Medicine, conducts research on Huntington disease and ALS, and is in the forefront of this research area and is active internationally.

Professor Åsa Petersén is the head of the research group, which includes researchers, technician and administrator. The group works closely with, and shares labs and staff with, another research group that focuses on Parkinson’s disease and Huntington disease. Work duties and areas of responsibility

Your specific responsibility will be research projects on TDP43 and huntingtin. You will generate and analyse data and present these in manuscripts. Writing both original and review articles in this research area will be significant part of your work. These tasks require a very good knowledge and experience in the area. 

Qualifications

Requirements for the position include:

  • Doctoral degree in medical science,
  • Documented experience in research on TDP43 and Huntington disease, in the form of several published scientific original articles on TDP43 and huntingtin,
  • Documented experience in scientific presentations, both oral and in the format of posters,
  • Documented experience in histological methods and following analyses of brain tissue. 

Meritorious for the position:

  • Good ability to work independently and work in international collaborations.

Further information

The employment is a fixed-term position for approximately five months, with a start date of 24th of July 2026 or by agreement.
