We invite applications for a Research Assistant positions in the research group of Professor Camilla Svensson, specializing in cellular and molecular pain physiology. The position will be based at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, a collegial, international, and dynamic research environment.

Our group has a strong focus on pain mechanisms in arthritis and fibromyalgia and offers an engaging and collaborative research setting where your contributions can make a meaningful impact

Your mission

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a genuine interest in supporting a dynamic research team of around 12 members. As part of the lab, you will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of ongoing projects, providing hands-on experimental support in a collaborative and stimulating research environment.

Your responsibilities will include working closely with researchers to perform a variety of tasks, such as:

  • RNA extraction and RNA analysis
  • Cryosectioning and immunohistochemistry Imaging using confocal microscopy
  • Cell culture maintenance and experiments
  • Data analysis and documentation
  • This is an exciting opportunity to be part of highly motivated research team while further developing your technical skills.

Your profile

You have at least a bachelor’s degree in biological or life sciences and have prior experience working with a range of laboratory techniques, including immunohistochemistry and RNA analysis. Knowledge of bioinformatics or experience with sequencing data analysis is a strong plus. You are eager to continue learning and expanding your skillset.

You are fluent in both spoken and written English, which is essential for this role.
