Job description

We invite applications for up to two Postdoc positions in the field of hybrid control for multi-robot systems. The successful candidates will join a research group that is focusing on new control methodologies for multi-robot systems.

It is expected that the successful candidates will conduct research in this area, interact with doctoral and master students, and be involved in collaborative work in national and international projects.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Research expertise

Applicants should have a doctoral degree related to at least one of the following research areas:

  • Multi-agent control systems
  • Distributed control of networked systems
  • Formal methods for robot control synthesis

The successful applicant should have research expertise and an outstanding research and publicationrecord. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a motivated person, who can work independently, as well as within a research group.  Applicants also need to possess teaching abilities. Excellent command of English orally and in writing is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience implementing and validating experimentally control/planning strategies
  • Experience in EU projects’ participation
  • Teaching abilities
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Independence

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
