Position HighlightsThe R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate I in the lab of Dr. Xinxin Ding. The successful candidate will conduct research on metabolic mechanisms of chemical toxicity in the lung. Analytical methods including mass spectrometry and NMR will be used to study DNA adducts in mouse models and humans exposed to environmental chemicals. Transgenic mouse models will be used to dissect metabolic mechanisms involved in bioactivation and transport of reactive metabolites. Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct research on metabolic mechanisms of chemical toxicity in the lung, generate and analyze data, and evaluate progress.Complete data analysis and engage in scientific discussion, hypothesis generation, experimental design, and troubleshooting. Assist with laboratory management.Participate in manuscript preparation, and presenting results at Regional/National/International scientific conferences.
Knowledge. Skills, and Abilities:Skills in mass spectrometry.Knowledge of DNA adduct analysis.Ability to work with mouse inhalation exposure models.
Minimum QualificationsPhD in Toxicology or related fields.
