Work assignments

As a postdoc within AIDA (Analytic Imaging Diagnostics Arena), you will work to establish a national knowledge bank for AI implementation in medical imaging diagnostics. The work involves mapping and analysing the experiences of Swedish healthcare providers in introducing AI solutions into clinical practice, with a particular focus on radiology and pathology. Based on the collected material, you will develop guidance documents and frameworks for systematic AI adoption in healthcare.

You will work in close collaboration with clinicians, researchers and operations managers across Sweden, disseminating results through AIDA’s platforms, workshops, AI courses and external conferences. The position combines independent research with active engagement in a broad interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral network.

As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.

Qualifications

To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.

It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree — such as taking statutory leave — then these may be taken into consideration.

We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree in business administration, informatics, medical science, public health, or another relevant field with a focus on implementation research, organisational theory, or AI in healthcare. You have documented experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. Proficiency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, is required.

We also think you have experience of research or practical work within healthcare organisations, knowledge of AI applications in clinical contexts, and experience of compiling and communicating research findings to broad audiences. Experience of stakeholder management and project management is considered advantageous.

You are analytical, self-driven and have a pronounced ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders from different sectors – healthcare, academia and industry. You communicate with clarity and commitment, thrive in a dynamic environment and have the ability to translate complex research findings into practical guidance.

The workplace

You will be based at the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) at Linköping University, located at the University Hospital in Linköping. CMIV is an interdisciplinary centre for medical imaging and functional medicine with close collaboration between healthcare, academia and industry.
