The position

Your workplace will be the Business Administration division at the Department of Management and Engieering (IEI), which delivers education and research mostly within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. As amanuens (student teaching/research assistant) with us, you assist teachers and researchers in courses and research projects in business administration, when necessary and by agreement. The assignments can include administrative tasks, basic teaching tasks, and correction of exams on basic-level courses in business administration. The assignments can also include administrative support and basic tasks within research projects, for example transcribing interviews, searching in databases and compilation of empirical material.

The person we need

Only those who are admitted to undergraduate or master-level studies may be employed as a student teaching/research assistant. Applicants should have passed at least one year of basic education at university level. High proficiency in English, oral and written, is a requirement. Being admitted to studies in business administration is a merit. Furthermore, having achieved strong study results in your university studies so far, experience from independent work such as thesis work/projects, and administrative skills are significant qualifications. You are expected to be responsible, thorough, service-oriented, and be interested in the subject areas you assist in.

The tasks are varied and can arise at short notice, requiring flexibility and availability at the university.

The employment

The scope of the work assignments and starting date are determined by agreement. Employment as amanuens is regulated in Chapter 5, Högskoleförordningen. A teaching assistant is allowed to conduct work in teaching, administration or participation in research or artistic development work. An employment as a teaching assistant may not exceed 50% of full-time.

Salary and employment benefits

Salary according to LiU’s central agreement on teaching assistans salaries. The employment is hourly paid.
