Project description

We are looking for a researcher to join our yeast evolution and genomics lab at Stockholm University. The applicant will manage a project that harnesses the power of experimental evolution and comparative genomics in the model system Saccharomyces, to address fundamental questions in evolutionary biology.

Main responsibilities

The work will involve 100 % research and will mostly be lab-based, but may include some fieldwork.

Qualification requirements

Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in evolutionary biology and experience in experimental evolution, genomics, and particularly transcriptomic analyses. Prior experience in Saccharomyces yeast cultivation and programming (e.g., R or Python) is essential. Applicants should possess strong quantitative skills, be well organized, have excellent communication abilities, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

About the employment

The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 12 months. Start date 10 September 2026.
